Abstract
Immigration is a complex phenomenon, which implies a process of acculturation between the immigrants and the receiving society that produces changes in the implied subjects. The objective of the present study is to carry out a bibliographical review of the concept of acculturation, differentiating it from the concept of assimilation; of the models of acculturation, and of the recent research referring to the interaction between mental health and acculturation, to finally expose the conceptualization MIP GROUP proposes of this relation.
