Abstract
A research about the meanings of health that have built a group of young people and senior citizens based in traditional medicine practices of Tenjo (Cundinamarca). Research was qualitative and ethnographic with phenomenological method and interpretative analysis, making use of techniques such as participant observation, semi-structured interview, focus group and social cartography and instruments such as field diaries, question guides and transcripts. Three significant results were found: a. consider health to be a state of balance which goes beyond the absence of a disease or illness; b. the community healers build relationships of trust with the other who suffers; and c. the practices and knowledge in traditional medicine have been transmitted and learned in the families and communities.
