Emotional dependence and love myths in students of two educational levels
Dependencia emocional y mitos del amor en estudiantes de dos niveles educativos

There is a close connection between emotional dependency and the belief in and romantic myths about relationships, as such beliefs encourage to place personal needs and interests on the backburner. The aim of this research was to determine whether the educational level of individuals makes a difference in the connection between romantic myths and emotional dependency in relationships. To this end, the Myths, Fallacies and Erroneous Beliefs on Romantic Love Scale and a Emotional Dependency questionnaire was applied to 34 High School students and 61 College students. Results show that High School students scored higher in emotional dependency and display greater myth acceptance, while College students exhibit greater correlations between myths and dependency than High School students.
