Abstract

This article explores the role of psychology as regards the contemporary changing working conditions in Colombia. It focuses on analyzing one psychological strategy applied within the context of the transition from the “traditional” urban passenger transport system to the new Transmilenio system in Bogota. The “challenge for options” is a sample of tools, as couching, neuro-linguistic programing and the “seven habits of effective people”, for the production of autonomous workers. First of all, the transport system working conditions are considered. Within that context the “challenge for options” is analyzed. The article concludes by pointing out psychology´s implications for the excercise of a liberal rationality of government.
