Abstract

The present investigation aimed to make a comparative study of children living in rural and urban environment, those results were obtained by measuring levels of resilience, by using the Resilience School Scale (Saavedra & Castro, 2009). This allows identifying which areas are more developed by the subject and which are in a weakened condition. The sample consisted of 468 boys and girls between 9 and 14 years old in the Seventh Region of Maule - Chile. The sample was compared through the variables gender and place of residence. The results suggested the existence of statistically significant differences between men and women in their place of origin.
