Abstract
This study aimed to identify the characteristics of the study habits and the presence of problems of anxiety and depression in psychology students at a private university in Bogota, and the relationship between these factors to academic performance. Data analysis allowed to observe that most of the factors measured by the test lassI (Weinstein, schulte & Palmer,
1987), students show an appropriate level. However, the factors of attitude, motivation, anxiety and self-assessment in relation to the study had lower than average. Additionally it was found that academic performance is positively correlated with the appropriate study habits and negatively with high levels of anxiety and depression (Measured with the Zung Depression and anxiety scales).
