Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine whether a relationship exists between the condition of acne, the level of social skills and social anxiety in male adolescents between 18 and 21 years, with an exposure equal to or less than six months to dermatological treatments. To this end, we reviewed the pathogenesis of acne, epidemiological trends, and characteristics of adolescence, theoretical foundations of social skills and social anxiety and studies of the impact of acne on the subject. The research is correlational, non-experimental with a trans-correlational design. The purposive sample is two groups of 15 adolescents with and without suffering from acne vulgaris, who have applied the Questionnaire Structured Learning Skills and the Scale Social Avoidance and Distress [SAD]. The results confirmed the correlation between variables, by the analysis provided by the Statistical Package for Social Sciences [SPSS version 18], they are presented with tables of data, the conclusions derived on the crucial importance of having a comprehensive treatment for this population.
