The overall objective of this research was to determine the differences in the perception of adolescents 12 to 16 years about the difficulties and strengths in family communication. The sample consisted of 120 adolescents, 60 to 12 and 60 to 16 and used a semistructured interview. The findings allow to establish some differences in the styles, themes and strengths and weaknesses in communication, which allows direct and qualify the processes of prevention, education and intervention in relation to adolescent family communication in different contexts.
