Abstract

This research has the purpose of designing and adapting an automated model of the Marinano Yela’s Visuomotor test. The new version facilitates the measurement of eye-hand skill with greater agility and precision. An electronic model was developed based on a microcontroller which consists of a graphical interface which allows automatic qualification of the test, and a software that collects the history of the population evaluated. For the adaptation, the psychometrical properties of the test were evaluated in a sample that included students, administrative personnel and machine operators. The criterion was validated (r=-0.39), and norms were established for men and women, additionally the coherence between measurements was determined. The relation test-retest showed consistency (r=0.70). Besides, measurement accuracy and reduction in scoring and interpretation times were identified as advantages. The new model is considered as a contribution to motor skills, automation of psychological tests, and interdisciplinary work.
