Abstract

This article refers Participatory Action Research through a self-managed process in relation to the preparation for the retirement of a group of participants of a University Center of Guadalajara, Mexico, 2013, using techniques such as "listening", biographical and historical reflection technique "as I visualize the short and medium term". In the analysis of the experience were synthesized following reflections made by the group: what unites us?, what are the common references?, what are the most intensely lived moments during IAP, and what we say early retirees, and what early retirees sue?, at what challenges we face? and what do you propose to do?.One of the main conclusions at which they arrive, they share a common concern of preparing for retirement and the interest to do something about it. Retirement is a stage of minimal duration after working life, even though life expectancy has increased lately, which is why the importance of Participatory Action Research through a self-managed process to prepare for retirement the worker because it is inevitable continuous and progressive onset vulnerability and in many cases reaching dependence, so the maintain the quality of your life can help to minimize the problems you will face in their future in the medium and short term. Today has not been given the importance to promote in the workplace either private, public, institution, such as a social benefit, it really would be a benefit to the worker without much extra cost but as a benefit to the that the worker is entitled.
