Abstract

It is presented the results of a descriptive bibliometric study aimed to identifying strategies and qualitative methodological techniques used in research published in the period 2011-2013, available in common databases among hispanic college such as EBSCOhost, Scopus,

SpringerLink, SciELO - Scientific Electronic Library and General OneFile. 226 documents were analyzed to search items from keywords, descriptors and words in the title or abstract. The results suggest a predominance of published qualitative studies do not include the methodological framework or qualitative techniques generally known in academic circles for this research approach. This implies the need to reflect on the gap between what is taught in the classroom and what actually takes place on a scientific level production.
