Tattoo practice and body image La práctica del tatuaje y la imagen corporal

Abstract

To determine if a relationship exists between the tattoo and body image, was performed a review of five book chapters and 54 scientific articles published in different databases such as SciELO, Redalyc, Ebscohost and Pubmed, the tool Google Scholar was also used. As keywords were chosen tattoo, body image, psychiatry and tattoo, history of tattooing, body image disorders and decision making. At the end it became clear that no search work on the subject. However, the findings can contribute to the generation of new knowledge in this field.
