Abstract
This article presents the most important aspects about a research made on 2011 it which aim was inquire into the relationship between urban political messages (painted or graffiti), the participation of young people who interact with these messages and discursive and intentional elements of this communication phenomenon. To this end were held political formation workshops, discussions, urban ethnography and virtual ethnography. We worked with 98 students between 18 and 26 years of a private university of bogotá. it was concluded that the graffiti with political messages respond to the dynamics that are present in a given time and space, and that the realization of these is associated with an individual, group or group that advocates a political stance / ideology. Since virtual participation found that, although there are spaces of interaction for political participation from the graffiti, this participation is not given consistently, leading to an underutilization of these spaces.
