Main Article Content
Salutogenic addressing factors in End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) represent an option for the understanding and treatment of psychological aspects of the disease. Perceived resilience, as a factor that can enhance and face adverse situations, has been proposed as a component of sychological interest in the field of kidney patients. The purpose of this study was to perform a systematic review of scientific studies about resilience in patients with ESRD, in order to show an overview of published research on the subject from 2000 to 2017. PRISMA methodology (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyzes) was used. A comprehensive search for studies was conducted in five electronic scientific data bases, methodological quality of the studies was assessed in order to reach the final selection of items. 233 articles were obtained from databases and 4 manually, considering a total of 337 studies which were phased from the inclusion and exclusion criteria remaining 13 articles total. The inclusion of research that addresses resilience as a salutogenic term is an alternative in the comprehensive treatment of populations with the presence of medical pathologies and promotes a vision focused on new proposals for psychological interventions.
