Abstract
The mental health of students is a common problem in higher education institutions. The demand for attention often excedes available hours, which forces more efficient planning and analysis of the service’s statistics. This research describes the characteristics of students admitted to a unit of psychological attention since it’s creation in october 2007 until January 2009. Demographic information, the motives of consultation and more frequent diagnoses, the duration of the processes, types of terms, among other aspects that contribute us to the knowledge of the population that we are attending are described. Finally, it offers approaches that will guide future attention in the unit.
