Abstract

Therapeutic adherence constitutes a fundamental aspect in the life quality for those who live with Diabetes however, it is a multifactorial phenomenon that implicates changes and adjustments, same as the adolescent experiences in the biological, psycho-emotional and social, which affects in his motivation to execute various self-care activities. Therefore, we explored the impact in the therapeutic adherence through an intervention structured in the Transtheoric Model (TM) in five adolescents of 13 to 18 years old with Diabetes Mellitus Type I (DM1). Based on the pre-and post contrast of the variables involved, greater therapeutic adherence was found, which was associated with an increased motivation to change.
