Professional identity of the clinical supervisor: A case study from the perspective of the dialogical self

Abstract

The aim of this study was to address the professional identity of clinical supervisor from the perspective of self-dialogical, using a qualitative methodology and discourse semantic content based on grounded theory and types of speech. The methodological design case study consisted of selecting three supervisor-supervised pairs, extracted a postgraduate training program with intersubjective approach, which were followed over a period of 8 sessions of supervision. The analysis of results allowed building an approach to the dialogical self of supervisor, organizing the concepts and emerging themes elicited from the dialogues coding throughout the supervision process. Were fundamental notions of «positioning» and «transit» as concept vehicles to understand the different aspects of identity constructed in relation to the others. Results are discussed and proposed road expansion in various scenarios of dialogic interaction.
