Abstract

This paper aimed to assess the parameters of validity and precision of the Propensity for Angry Driving Scale (PADS). Specifically, on the first study, the translation, item analysis and semantic validation were performed. On the second one, the psychometric properties were assessed. Study I counted with 41 college students from, average age of 21 (SD = 4.6). Participated in Study II 271 drivers from the same location, with average age of 35.1 (SD = 13.5). The participants answered to PADS, Sensation Seeking Inventory, Self-control Scale, Buss-Perry’s Aggression Questionnaire, Big Five Personality Factors Inventory and sociodemographic questions. Results in Study I showed that the PADS encompassed the different degrees of aggressive reactions. Study 2 supported its psychometric adequacy, indicating a one-factor structure, and adequate convergent validity. The results were discussed based on the literature.
