Adaptación y Validación de la Escala de Control del Yo (UC-EgoUndercontrol Scale) a la población argentina
Main Article Content
The objective of paper was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the Ego-Undercontrol Scale by Block and Block (1980, 2006) in students from Entre Ríos, Argentine. Two studies were developed. In study 1, the construct validity was studied through an the discriminative power of the items, an exploratory factor analysis, and the reliability of the scale. In the second study, the factorial structure found in study 1 was confirmed, as well as the convergent validity and reliability were analyzed. It has been found that the scale has two dimensions and not one, as presented in its original version. These aspects have been called "behavioral impulsiveness" and "cognitive impulsiveness" and have good levels of reliability. It should be noted that the new version has fewer number of items (14 items) than the original scale (37 items). In this way, the final result is a brief scale, which can benefit the work and data collection with adolescents. The findings obtained allow us to realize that the psychometric characteristics of Spanish validation of the Ego-Control scale to the Argentine population are satisfactory.
