Efectos positivos y negativos del contacto mediado en mujeres víctimas de acoso

Resumen

Diferentes estudios señalan que el acoso ejercido por un hombre hacia una mujer es una de las formas más comunes de violencia interpersonal, también se ha encontrado que el acto a menudo es realizado por alguien con  quien se estableció algún tipo de relación previa. Una de sus variantes, el acoso relacional, se caracteriza por la búsqueda insistente por establecer intimidad; su práctica se ha diversificado por la influencia de medios electrónicos (contacto mediado), posicionándolo como un problema de salud pública debido al impacto (síntomas y resiliencia) sobre las víctimas. Pese a su importancia, la investigación en México ha sido nula, así  los objetivos del presente estudio fueron: Conocer el tipo de relación previa que la víctima mantenía con el acosador y la relación entre contacto mediado, los síntomas que genera y la resiliencia ante la situación.  Se trabajó con una muestra de 504 mujeres mexicanas (M=27.68 años), que habían experimentado acoso relacional, las cuales contestaron el Auto-Reporte de Victimización (Spitzberg & Cupach, 2014). Se llevó a cabo un análisis de frecuencias para conocer el tipo de relación previo que se tenía con el acosador y un análisis de Correlación de Pearson para conocer el grado de asociación entre las variables.  Los resultados subrayan que el vínculo más frecuente entre acosador y víctima es de relación superficial (39%), también proyectan fuertes asociaciones entre comportamientos de contacto mediado (desprestigio social y sexual, vigilancia) y sintomatología, así como la intensidad de la experiencia y  resiliencia.
