Abstract

The concepts and theories for approaching to psychological phenomena have evolved through time; thereby behavioral psychology has passed several generations. The gambling behavior is a phenomenon that represents a health problem that has few treatments with effective results. This reflection article aims to address the phenomenon of problem gambling on the light of behavioral theories of first, second and third generation. Thus, one published case in order to identify alternatives that each of the generations of behavioral intervention provides for the settlement of this type of psychological problems, thereby pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of each are resumed.
